Brian MacInnis

Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, Director

Brian co-founded Gateway in 2007 and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. He brings nearly 30 years of auto finance expertise to Gateway’s management team, and is an experienced leader of successful companies. Before Gateway, Mr. MacInnis founded Onyx Acceptance Corporation and served as its CEO and Chairman. Mr. MacInnis took Onyx public in 1996, and then successfully sold the company in 2005. His prior auto finance experience includes 17 years in management positions at WFS Financial, concluding with the role of Executive Vice President leading the auto-finance division.

David G. MacInnis

President, Co-Founder

David co-founded Gateway in 2007 and serves as the company’s President. His auto finance career spans 35 years and includes top leadership roles at industry-giants Bank of America and WFS Financial, where he amassed a wide-reaching knowledge base by heading divisions from Direct Lending, to Loan Originations, to Collections. Mr. MacInnis left WFS Financial to join Onyx Acceptance Corporation as Senior Vice President in 1994. Under his leadership, the Loan Servicing group saw a significant drop in delinquency and losses. His expertise and strong leadership are central to Gateway’s success.

Todd A. Pierson

Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President

Todd joined Gateway as Chief Operating Officer at the company’s inception in 2007. His prior experience includes notable positions both inside and outside of the auto finance industry. Early in his career, he serviced more than 300 financial institutions as a Senior Business Consultant with Hewlett-Packard, and then translated his technical expertise into the role of Vice President of Technology for Ceridian Tax Services. He moved to the auto finance industry in 1999 with Onyx Acceptance Corporation where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Pierson received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in technology from California Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Gerald Wilkins

Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President

Gerald joined Gateway in 2010 as Controller, and brings over 18 years of auto finance experience to his current role of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his tenure at Gateway, Mr. Wilkins served as Controller at Onyx Acceptance Corporation where he assisted in the company’s start-up in 1993 and its initial public offering in 1996. Prior to Onyx, Mr. Wilkins worked at Ernst & Young, specializing in the financial services industry. While at E&Y, he assisted in engagements with banks, savings institutions and finance companies with assets ranging from $100 million to $3 billion. Mr. Wilkins received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Long Beach State University, and holds an active CPA license in the state of California.

Andrew B. Sturm

Executive Vice President, Loan Servicing

Andrew joined Gateway in 2010, and brings over 26 years of business and technology leadership to the company. Prior to joining Gateway, Mr. Sturm served as Vice President of Technology for Specific Media, a global interactive media company, and as Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President for Onyx Acceptance Corporation. Prior to joining Onyx in 1999, Mr. Sturm served as IT Director for Ceridian Tax Services, and was responsible for filing business tax returns for 700 of the top 1,000 corporations in America. Mr. Sturm received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from DeVry Institute of Technology, Arizona.

Jennifer Ishiguro

Chief Legal Officer and Executive Vice President

Jennifer joined Gateway in 2015, and brings over 15 years of legal experience to the company. She oversees the Legal and Compliance Departments at Gateway. Prior to joining Gateway, Ms. Ishiguro spent nearly eight years at Toyota Financial Services serving as head of the Legal Department’s Corporate Transactions Group and covering the practice areas of securities transactions and reporting, capital markets and derivatives, broker-dealer, corporate governance, commercial secured and unsecured lending, vendor contracts, and financial institutions regulation. Before her time at Toyota, she spent close to eight years at the law firm of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, in the fields of securities law and capital markets. Ms. Ishiguro received her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Yale College and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, and is a member of the New York bar as well as registered in-house counsel in California.

Marty Crowley

Chief Information Officer and Executive Vice President

Marty joined Gateway in 2007 as one of its first team members. Prior to his tenure at Gateway, Mr. Crowley served as Chief Technology Officer for SafeTZone Technologies, a pioneering firm in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) systems. He also worked closely with several members of Gateway’s executive team at Onyx Acceptance Corporation as Director of Infrastructure. Mr. Crowley is a member of the enterprise IT governance group and participates in both regulatory compliance and enterprise strategy at the TCF level. Mr. Crowley received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, Arizona

Charles Tocker

Chief Credit Officer and Senior Vice President

Charles joined Gateway in 2007 and brings 30 years of auto finance experience to his role as Chief Credit Officer. Mr. Tocker’s extensive knowledge of sales and credit allowed him to develop the company’s innovative Credit Audit division. His prior experience includes a variety of management positions at WFS Financial and Pacific Community Credit Union where he was instrumental in developing a strong sales team and decreasing losses during a significant restructuring of the company. He was also the top Indirect Dealer Lending Program Sales Manager during his tenure at Pacific Community Credit Union. Mr. Tocker received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton.

Brandon Pierson

Chief Risk Officer and Vice President

Brandon joined Gateway in August 2009, and currently serves as Chief Risk Officer. Prior to holding the Chief Risk Officer position, Mr. Pierson was the Manager of the Business Analytics group, and also played a key role within the Credit Audit function of the business. Mr. Pierson has extensive auto finance and technology expertise. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in Management Information Systems from Arizona State University, and holds his MBA with a focus in Finance from Chapman University, California.

LuAnn Myles

Vice President, Funding Operations

LuAnn joined Gateway in 2013, bringing more than 20 years of auto lending expertise into Gateway’s funding operations. Ms. Myles has seen the auto lending industry from every angle, starting her career on the dealership side as a Finance and Insurance Manager, and eventually becoming Vice President of Retail Sales and Credit at Wells Fargo Auto Finance. While at Wells Fargo, she was responsible for sales, credit, and funding operations. Her experience in key industry positions groomed her to utilize Gateway’s monumental growth to build a funding powerhouse. Ms. Myles received her Associates Degree in Elective Studies from St. Cloud State University, Minnesota.

Mark Marty

Compliance Manager and BSA/AML Coordinator, Vice President

Mark joined Gateway in 2009 and has more than 30 years’ experience in auto finance. Since 2009, he has developed and grown three departments at Gateway, and currently leads Gateway’s Compliance Department. Prior to his tenure at Gateway, Mr. Marty was a Senior Vice President at WFS Financial where he spent 20 years leading a variety of WFS divisions such as Indirect Lending, Direct Lending, National Accounts, and Auto Channel Marketing. He has earned numerous awards and certifications throughout his career, and currently holds the title of Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager. Mr. Marty received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from San Diego State University, California

Cynthia Cuttrell

Human Resources Director, Assistant Vice President

Cynthia joined Gateway’s management team shortly after the company’s inception in 2007. With Gateway’s culture-centric, rapid-growth environment, a Human Resources Director with a passion for developing people was an early priority for the company. Ms. Cuttrell began her Human Resources career in 1995 for the exclusive, high-end, woman’s retailer St. John Knits, and continued in the fashion and textile industry at the Draper’s and Damon’s distribution center as their only bilingual Human Resources employee advocate. Ms. Cuttrell is currently a member of SHRM Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Professionals In Human Resources Association (PIHRA).
